What is a Master of Counselling
The University of Canterbury Master of Counselling is the only postgraduate qualification in the South Island and expands a counsellor's theoretical grounding and practical skills. It is a limited entry programme and applicants are chosen that can demonstrate self-knowledge, sensitivity, empathy, communication skills, respect from others, professional awareness and self-development.
We have completed research, practical, and theoretical study, and both hold the University of Canterbury Master of Counselling qualification. Using a variety of evidence based practices and critical reflection skills, we help clients develop their awareness, make choices, and take actions to support those choices.
